Leicester based Clay Oven Bakery has had a fantastic couple of months following the introduction of their hand-stretched naan bread in over 800 Co-Op stores around the UK. From August, the 2 products, Garlic and Coriander Naan and Spicy Naan breads, have featured in the World Foods section alongside some of the best-known brands in the category.
Who are Clay Oven Bakery?
Clay Oven Bakery have been baking the finest naan breads at their premises in the UK since 2006. Using traditional recipes, hand-stretching techniques and a tandoor oven to bake the bread, the result is delicious melt in the mouth naans. Using 100% natural ingredients means they offer a superior taste and the products are GM Free as well and being suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Still a family owned and run business, it is currently working on new products, new premises and new listings.

Our relationship with the bakery began 3 years ago in 2016 and has gone from strength to strength. We supported the team with all aspects of business development from securing the initial meeting with Co-Op, negotiating commercials, overseeing the supplier portal and EDI set up to the ensuring the stock arrived on time for the range launch. It has been an incredibly busy but rewarding time for all involved and seeing Clay Oven’s premium products in prime shelf space in a key category in Co-Op has been worth every moment of the effort.
We are proud to say we have secured listings for Clay Oven products in Booker, Bidfood and now Co-Op and have some exciting opportunities which are in the final stages before launch so watch this space!
