Leicester based Clay Oven Bakery are celebrating a major new product launch in Tesco thanks to their partnership with Wynne Business. The artisan Garlic & Coriander naan bread has launched in 250 stores around the country with the first week of sales showing fantastic results.
Who Are Clay Oven Bakery?
Established in Leicester in 2006, Clay Oven Bakery, started life producing naan breads for the local restaurant trade. The business grew quickly from local distribution to national opportunities in the wholesale sector, followed by food service and more recently retailers.
The products themselves were created to fill a gap in the market for authentic naan breads that replicated the restaurant experience in the home. The core flavours are a traditional Plain, a taste-test winning Garlic & Coriander and a unique Spicy with new products in development. Every naan is hand-stretched and cooked in a Tandoor oven before being freshly packed and sent out. The factory is nut free and uses natural ingredients and every product is suitable for vegans.
Clay Oven Bakery was keen to grow the brand and increase distribution so approached Wynne Business to support them in their pursuit of major retail listings. As a result, they are proud to include household names such as Co-Op, Morrisons and Booths as their customers.
The Partnership
Wynne Business have been working with Clay Oven Bakery for 3 years and are an integral part of the team. Suzi Wynne, Managing Director at Wynne Business, has driven success with listings in Booker, Bidfood, Co-Op and now Tesco.
This significant and exciting listing has been a result of many months of hard work with the buyers at Tesco as well as in house development to ensure the right product hit the shelves in January 2020.
